If good horses and challenging trails are more important than tennis courts and Jacuzzis, Renegade Rides is the place to ‘hang your hat’. The international clientele coming here have one thing in common: They Love To Ride! I have many return riders who come back year after year to experience the freedom and adrenaline rush, they get on our fine horses. Our motto is no wimps and no whining- you better love to ride!
Renegade Rides is not for beginners or for timid, unsure riders. A spirit of adventure is required. We ride over natural terrain. There is no trail crew out here, to groom the trails. These are natural trails made by the local wildlife and livestock- deer, elk, cattle and sheep. Be prepared to lope through knee-deep sagebrush, slow down for the rocks, watch out for badger holes and gallop through grassy meadows. My horses have been born and raised in this rugged country and can negotiate the trails with ease. Riders must be comfortable riding with a loose rein, at a gallop, in a group of other riders. We encourage riders to wear helmets.
The rides are limited to 6 guests. This provides a more personal riding experience. No big groups here. We take pride in properly matching horse and rider. Renegade horses are not your average dude horse. They are sensitive, responsive ,athletes who do their job well. Spurs and crops are not needed- leave them at home.
We won’t be seeing any backpackers, mountain bikers or other tourists. Except for an occasional rancher, we have the place to ourselves. Do expect to see deer, antelope, some elk(depending on the ride), eagles, coyotes and views that will take our breath away. This is a very scenic area with tremendous views, every day. Seeing it from horseback is super special.
There are many guest ranches, that will hold your hand and give you a nice ride. There is only one Renegade Ride- that provides athletic horses for serious riders who want to experience “the true meaning of horsepower’.
